What state is the Athenian performing arts scene in after more than five years of debt crisis? How do artists and organizations deal with the precarious work conditions? In April 2015, Sébastien Hendrickx travelled to the Greek capital for three weeks. He collected this handful of observations, snippets of conversations and images.

2011-2013 Collecting responses to the first open call and posting disparate materials on the fromstagetopage blog. Decision to focus on interviews of artists when considering the first publication. Interviews of choreographers (of Greek origin or active in the local context) were conducted primarily by Mariela Nestora while dance theorists were invited to reflect on the contents of the blog and the Greek dance scene.
2010 An open call to choreographers and dance practitioners was first sent out in 2010 inviting artists to write about their work and share their practices.Their contributions would fall into one or more of the following categories: Manifesto, Method, Self interview, On the work, On why, Research/Theory, Company/Production description, Images and Quotes. The aim was to publish materials on fromstagetopage blog and collect materials for a future publication that attempted to identify and locate the Greek contemporary dance scene. Starting from the simple idea that for a scene to exist, someone needs to write about it and if no one else does then it would be the artists themselves. Is there a need for a dance community as we continue to create independently as individuals? What is the visibility of the work being produced in Greece? Who are our peers? Could this digital platform offer a space for our community to grow as the artists exchange their work and practices? Dance theorists were later invited to reflect on the contents of the blog or to write about the Greek dance scene.
