Dancing Sculptures: Contractions of an intercorporeal aesthetic
Stefania Mylona
1 August 2022Dancing Sculptures, my signature work, was presented in various performances in London. This is the Tail and the Walking Trio shot at The Place in 2009. The work is characterized as performance dance standing in-between dance and performance. The work presented a surrealist view of the world through human assemblage sculptures made out of many performers in close bodily contact. The research applied and explored the Deleuzian concept of the assemblage in performance dance by creating dancing sculptures, assemblages of two or more performers in close bodily contact that moved together through space.
